History and origins

Sapporo's rich Miso Ramen, known as the "Jun-Sumi" style, is said to have originated from "Sumire," which was founded by Akiko Muranaka in 1964. When the restaurant moved in 1983, it changed its name to "Junren."
The younger brother then opened an independent Ramen business under the name "Junren (Sumire)." His older sister, Akiko Muranaka, is the person who built the taste and reputation of "Junren" Ramen, and now operates the business as "Ramen Station."
"Junren" is currently operating as "Sapporo Junren" and "Junren (Sumire)" as "Sumire" as Ramen shops representing Sapporo Ramen.
The most popular dish at this restaurant is Miso Ramen. Minced meat and vegetables are thoroughly fried in lard, and the hot lard forms a thick film over the soup. The ramen is also packed with the umami Umami of Garlic and vegetables, making it a bowl that you can enjoy until the very last bite.
